A race for everyone!
If you are looking for a great 10K to kick off your summer, this is it! We have got a flat, fast course that is sure to give you a personal best. The course has very few curves and is an out and back on Memorial Drive, an ideal course to test your speed. It does not matter whether you run or walk, it is a great feat just to complete the LA Weight Loss 10K.

Timex Road Race Series
The Timex Road Race Series has been revamped for 2008 to provide exciting new benefits for road runners and is proud to be involved with the LA Weight Loss 10KM Road Race at the HSBC Calgary Marathon Weekend!
As an Athletics Alberta road race member that participates within the Timex Road Race Series, there is opportunity to compete and win $4000 in prize money, obtain advanced entry into Melissa's 10KM Road Race, obtain the Timex Series Yellow Jersey and have results emailed directly to you after the race...

A special Brooks sleeveless technical shirt featuring LA Weight Loss 10K Race logo (women's sizing is available - please order size accordingly), food and drink at the finish line, a souvenir Race Program, admission to the Fitness Expo, medical support on course and at the finish line, 2 company sponsored aid stations providing water, Gatorade, sponges, and sanitary facilities; live entertainment, and over 1,000 enthusiastic volunteers working for you.

Confirmation
Confirmation of your race entry will be e-mailed to you once payment has been processed. Printed confirmation or photo id is required at the race package pick-up. To ensure your entry has been received, look for your name on our website: Registration Confirmation.
‘ChampionChip’ Timing
All runners will be using ChipTiming. You will pick up your chip at package pick up and return it at the finish line. A deposit is not required. Chips not returned are the responsibility of the runner and a $40 charge will be administered for unreturned chips.
Race Cap
For logistical reasons and to ensure the best possible event, all events will be capped. This makes it essential for those who wish to participate to ENTER EARLY! This event sold out in 2007!

Start / Finish
All race day activities will start and finish at Millennium Park, 11 Street and 9 Ave. SW. The course is open for 6½ hours. Walkers are invited and encouraged to participate in all events.
Awards
All Marathon finishers will receive a finishers' medal as they cross the finish line. A certificate of completion will be availabe to download off our web site.

Fastest male (40+) and female (40+) master: $300
First three male and female runners in the following age categories: 19 & under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+; will be awarded medals.

Cancellations
ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Once we accept your entry you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not give or sell your number to anyone else.
Race Portraits
The HSBC Calgary Marathon is proud to have Action Sports International as the official photographer of the HSBC Calgary Marathon race weekend. ASI is the industry leader in professional sports photography and their goal is to capture an athlete's greatest moment on film!
Official photographs will be taken along the course and at the finish line by strategically placed ASI photographers. To get the best pictures possible, keep your race number uncovered and in clear view at all times. Action Sports International will then email proofs of your photographs with ordering information within one week after the race.
Friendship Run
Come out to the free Friendship Run at the Eau Claire Running Room store at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 5th. Join runners and walkers from all over North America for a short scenic fun run to loosen up your legs and work out any nervous energy before heading over to the fitness expo. The very easy run includes photo opportunities, refreshments and some last minute tips from John Stanton. Come out and meet the pace bunnies and runners from all over the world attending the HSBC Calgary Marathon!!
