We strive to build a better world for tomorrow - today.
Our vision is a life without limits for persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
Mission: The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta makes a difference by enriching and supporting the lives of children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Through our programs and services and collaborations, we advocate and promote awareness, acceptance and understanding for persons with disabilities to live, learn and work in the community.
The CPAA is a visionary organization committed to an environment of dignity, integrity and respect. We put people first and promote diversity, independence and full citizenship. We are committed to excellence, effectiveness and accountability.
We offer a wide range of programs and services to address the needs of the individuals we serve. These range from our vacation without limits villa, health and wellness, art class, horticulture, yoga, music therapy, children's dance and swimming, computability and adult support groups, social work resources, funding assistance, employment training workshops and job placement services. Future plans include a new youth transitions program which will help youth with disabilities and their parents' transition into adulthood. Check out all our programs available at www.cpalberta.com.
The CPAA has a strong history of determination and commitment. Since 1976 the organization has grown from serving a dozen members with cerebral palsy to over 1,900 individuals and families annually with various disabilities province-wide. Each year over 250 volunteers and 40 staff come together to address the needs of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities, as nearly all of our programs and services are accessible to anyone with any disability.
