Did you know that the World Health Organization in 2002 announced that this is the first generation of children that will die before their parents due to preventable nutritional diseases?
'NSTEP is a not-for-profit registered charity, providing hands-on nutrition and physical activity programs directly into the classroom in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario. Preventing childhood obesity is the goal of 'NSTEP.
The 'NSTEP EAT WALK LIVE program provides support to teachers, parents, and students in a way that fosters professional development, collaboration with all community stakeholders, and sustainable change in the way a school addresses wellness. Student behaviour for healthier food and activity becomes a habit for life.
This year 'NSTEP is reaching 20 Calgary schools! Last year 'NSTEP in Calgary reached over 3,000 students, 152 teachers, approximately 4500 family members, 7500 individuals in 13 schools.
