AARCS is a non-profit organization that relies on the generosity of the public to help cover the costs of all our expenses, the majority being veterinary care for our animals. While we have the manpower, drive and ambition, financial support is essential to cultivate and maintain not only the basic costs, but to further develop our programs and initiatives. Please help by giving a donation, becoming a monthly AARCS Hero, giving a tribute, making AARCS part of your legacy, fulfilling our wish list, supporting our events and becoming a volunteer.  Together we can change our animals lives through kindness.

Butterfly Effect Foundation (Energy For All)

We would love for you to help!  We are fundraising for residential solar systems to be installed in rural Nicaragua.  Currently, the villagers are not connected to the electrical grid and are using kerosene as a source of light in their houses after the sun goes down.  It is dim, inefficient, toxic to breath, and also very expensive to purchase.  They have asked for support and we are responding.  We are fundraising for the equipment for solar systems.  We have offered loans to over 55 households and 8 commercial businesses.  There are many more families in the region!

Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre

Canadian Association For Equality

The Canadian Centre for Men and Families is Calgary’s first health and social service hub aimed at addressing the critical gaps in programs for boys, men and fathers. While helping men, women and transgender alike, we see the urge to help men and boys in need. We cannot accept the high suicide rates and homelessness of men nor the high dropout rates of boys in school. Please help us, so we can help them!

Canadian Humanitarian

We believe that education is the solution to end poverty. A feature of Canadian Humanitarian programs is the long-term commitment to the student for support, as long as they make the effort to attend and work hard at school. We measure our success by the number of children in CH programs who grow up to be successful, contributing members of their community. We assess the sustainability of our projects over generations. Our graduates will contribute to their communities, and their children will not need our programs. Their children will never know the crushing poverty that would have been their destiny.

Inn from the Cold

Family homelessness is on the rise in Calgary; this is a crisis of epidemic proportions. The Alex

We know that good health is the complete state of physical, mental, emotional and economic well-being. We cannot enjoy whole health when we are hungry, when we are in chronic pain, when we don’t have a roof over our head, when we feel disconnected from our community, when we are living in poverty. And fixing one of these issues while ignoring the rest is just a band-aid solution.

Our health, housing and food programs support our most vulnerable neighbours, tackling tough health and social issues head-on, and our preventative, cost-effective programs save millions in taxpayer dollars by moving people from poverty to stability and from crisis to wellness. Help make a significant difference to the direct needs of those who need it most in our city.

The Terry Fox Foundation

Nothing mattered more to Terry than the support of Canadians who stood by him, supporting his every step during those 4 months in 1980. By supporting The Terry Fox Foundation through your event at the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon, you will be making an important contribution to a charitable organization that still embodies the values of its founder; that funds cancer research projects that are innovative and daring; that has become an important part of community-building and fellowship.  Be inspired by one of the must special marathoners in Canadian history. "Anything is possible if you try." - Terry Fox

VHL Canada

Join our team to walk (run or roll) to raise funds, awareness, and support for the VHL cause! VHL or von Hippel-Lindau Syndrome is a rare genetic cancer syndrome. Imagine living your life, born with this rare condition, knowing that tumours, benign or malignant, are inevitable and may cause dangerous problems, but not knowing when or where.   Make a difference by helping us fundraise for: Emotional, Informational, and Practical Peer Support Programs for patients (and their family members) all across Canada.  As part of an official charity, you’ll get discounted registration fees and more. Women In Need

Have you ever thought about what happens when you are in need, alone, and know no one who can help you? For thousands of Calgary women and their families, WINS is the answer. Between 6,000 and 7,000 individual women are helped on the path of self-sustainability every year through WINS’ community programs. The number of services offered to clients has doubled between 2014 and 2017 and our stores struggle to raise enough funds to meet program demands.  The funds you raise through the 2018 Scotiabank Charity Challenge will make a difference for thousands of low income families in Calgary.

Women's Centre of Calgary

Join the Women's Centre's team this year to raise funds in support of women in our community! You will be running or walking to continue to provide women with a space where they can meet their basic needs. Our Direct Assistance program was accessed over 16,000 times by women last year to receive food and personal care items like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, tampons, and body wash.  Join our team before Feb 28 and you will be entered into a contest for a FREE registration. There will also be incentive prizes for our top fundraisers from community partners!
