Scotiabank Kids Marathon
This is a unique format that allows young people to participate in their first marathon. Kids start running or walking their marathon one KM at a time completing 41 KM by Sunday, May 27, 2012. On race day the kids will complete the last 1.2 KM of their marathon along with elite and citizen runners at the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon.
All Scotiabank Kids Marathon participants receive a competitors 100% cotton t-shirt, a race bib, a medal when they cross the finish line and a certificate of completion that will be available on-line after the event.

How do you get started?
It's easy, the first thing you need to do is set your goal to complete the marathon. You register and begin running under the guidance of a parent, adult, coach or teacher six weeks prior to race day.
You have six weeks to complete 41 KM. Keep track of the KM you've completed using the Kilo-Clocker.
You can run/walk a little or a lot, do what you are comfortable completing.
The most important thing is to pace yourself, you want to be able to run the final 1.2 KM on race day.
