The Scotiabank Calgary Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon
Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge
New for 2010 - The Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge
Run for You, and Your Community
The Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge lets you participate in the event while raising funds for one of our official charities. Click here for information on participating charities and to start raising funds for one of these important causes.
Here are the steps to follow to support these charities today.
Step 1:
1.a. Register online for the Scotiabank Marathon, Centaur Subaru half-marathon, THE Downtown Sports Clinics 10K, AstraZeneca 5K or Timbits Marathon. This is the easiest way to enter and you will receive an instant confirmation by email. Note: This step registers you for the race event only.
b. If you are already registered for a Scotiabank Calgary Marathon race, then proceed to step 2.
c. Not registering for an event, but you still want to contribute? Go to step 2 and search out an individual or fundraising team that you would like to support and make a donation.
Step 2:
2. Register to fundraise here. You can then create your own personal fundraising page and start collecting pledges for one of our Official Charities. This system allows online fundraising for all of our official charities, plus new interactive features to help you with your fundraising!
You can send invitations to your friends, family and co-workers to support you in your run!
Step 3:
3. Follow the steps in the Fundraising section and click on 'Sign Up' and choose how you would like to fundraise. You can:
a. Fundraise as an Individual -- Sign up as an individual. You can create or join a fundraising team later if you want to.
b. Create a Fundraising Team -- Team Captains can create their teams by entering their team name and description.
c. Join an existing Fundraising Team -- Enter the name of the team you want to join or retrieve a list of registered teams by searching by the team captain's first or last name.
Step 4:
4. Enter your fundraising contact information, create a username and password, and choose the charity you want to fundraise for. Your username and password allow you to log onto the fundraising website whenever you want to send solicitation emails or check your fundraising results. Your username and log in information will be sent to you in a new confirmation email. Keep this email for easy access back to your fundraising site.
Now you're ready to start fundraising. Once you're registered, you can start sending emails to family and friends asking for their support.
Email charitychallenge@calgarymarathon.com if you have any questions about making pledges or to join one of the official charity teams.
